The Best Talent Agencies in Ottawa
If you want to enroll yourself or your child in a talent agency, you may have noticed that there are many choices available in the city. We’ve narrowed down these options using the following criteria:
1. Models International Management Academy

Criteria | Ratings |
Services | ★★★★★(5/5) |
Rates | ★★★★ (4/5) |
Portfolio | ★★★★★(5/5) |
Location | ★★★★★(5/5) |
The Models International Management Academy (MIM) focuses on one thing and one thing only, modeling. The courses it offers are all related to modeling, including model management, getting a career in modeling, and social media modeling.
What we like about MIM is its Kids and Teen Program. Many brands are looking to be more accessible to younger customers and so they also hire a lot of kids and teens as models.
We were happy to learn that kids can study modeling as early as 8 – 10 years old. They are taught the basics, such as runway walking, posture study, and posing.
We’re also big fans of how accessible the MIM Academy is to all ages. It even has models for lifestyle magazines that are around 40 – 50 years old.
It’s nice to see that a famous modeling agency and school in Ottawa gives chances to everyone, regardless of their age group.
They say that if you got it, don’t be afraid to flaunt it, and that’s what the MIM Academy is doing. On its website, you can see past students and their modeling headshots.
We like this because we think it’s a good idea to inspire other aspiring models.
Another thing we loved about MIM Academy is its camps. It holds summer camps and March camps for kids who aspire to be models, which is a great way for them to interact with successful models and fellow youngsters.
Overall, MIM Academy is surely a good agency for aspiring models. The only downside is the academy doesn’t teach acting, which is usually associated with modeling.
But other than that, the agency is good and its services are comprehensive.
Pros
- Offers summer camp
- Has a program for younger models
Cons
- Focused on modeling only
Customer Reviews
Unlike any other
“There’s no other agency like MIM. A lifelong dream of mine to become a model was made true with the help and guidance of the incredible women who run this company. They are so trustworthy and transparent, they always respond to any questions or concerns in a timely manner, and most importantly, they are so positive and encouraging! Thank you for everything MIM! I cannot wait for what the future holds.” – Sabrina Suppa
My creative avenue
“Alexa had a great experience with the Teen program with MIM. She enjoyed meeting new people and learning about the modeling industry. She’s found a new interest and loved taking part in the photoshoot and fashion show! Recommend to any teen who is tip toeing on pursuing a creative avenue.” – Melanie L.
2. AMTI

Criteria | Ratings |
Services | ★★★★ (4/5) |
Rates | ★★★★ (4/5) |
Portfolio | ★★★★★(5/5) |
Location | ★★★★★(5/5) |
AMTI is another solid candidate for the best talent agencies in Ottawa. What’s awesome is that it offers both acting and modeling lessons.
The catch is students who want to learn from AMTI’s instructors have to undergo an open call first. The open call isn’t too difficult and can be passed without experience, but it is always a better option to practice before trying it out.
AMTI teaches lifestyle commercial modeling and fashion modeling for those who aspire to be models. The school also has a solid portfolio on its website that shows off its previous students and their modeling careers.
For acting, they have options for feature film acting, television show acting, and even theater.
AMTI’s instructors are always looking for new students and they even go on Facebook and
Instagram live to show off their students’ talents.
We’re really big fans of AMTI’s portfolio, which is a great way to inspire aspiring models and actors to join in and sign up.
Unfortunately, because AMTI is more online-based, the best way to reach its instructors is to join one of their open calls. Unfortunately, they don’t have a proper schedule.
Overall, AMTI is good for both acting and modeling. Anyone interested in either should definitely check out this agency.
Pros
- Offers workshops on both acting and modeling
- Good portfolio
Cons
- No schedule indicated
Customer Reviews
The light in my career
“Right from the start, Angie was supportive and a total light in my career. She took me exactly as I was and found me works so quickly internationally and locally. When I had issues with an agency abroad she did everything to make me still feel safe, and rectify the issues I had on a 12h time difference. Their professionalism is unmatched and her being hands-on is the reason her models and actors get so much work. I was with an agency in Ottawa before who just took my money and did NOT realize my potential, and I cannot thank my peers enough for encouraging me to leave that other agency and find a new one, because my potential was fully harvested with Angie!” – Sarah V.
Like family
“AMTI is an amazing agency. You are treated with respect and are treated like family. This agency has done amazing things for my career which started off with modeling and after a couple of years transitioned into acting. The owners Angie and Lou, are amazing, transparent and honest people.” – Jean Edem Tori
3. Allegro Music Schools

Criteria | Ratings |
Services | ★★★★ (4/5) |
Rates | ★★★★ (4/5) |
Portfolio | ★★★★★(5/5) |
Location | ★★★★ (4/5) |
Allegro is the only music school on our list. Its teachers are very professional and the school itself is almost like a university with its own courses.
It offers lessons in piano, guitar, drums, and even songwriting. The school also has theory studies for more advanced students who want to go deeper in music lessons.
Allegro has locations in both Orleans and Ottawa, but it is open to online learning as well, which is a good option for those who don’t want to leave their homes.
Its curriculum is very specific, focusing more on notes and theory. So compared to the others on this list, it is a more formal setting.
Learning is its priority, but if its past students become successful musicians, Allegro is not afraid to give them the spotlight.
The music school also has a good number of teachers, so it is able to accept multiple students. This makes it a good environment as well since students will be learning not just from the teachers but from each other.
The school’s facilities are also great and make the expensive price more or less worth it. Definitely give Allegro a chance if you or your child are interested in learning music and making a career out of it someday.
Pros
- Multiple teachers
- Offers online learning
Cons
- Pricey
Customer Reviews:
Highly recommended
“I have been taking lessons here for years! Love it and all the instructors are great! Positive, super friendly, dedicated to teaching each student what they want to learn and teaching the basics of each instrument. They are familiar with all genres of music and are the best priced music studio.I have recommended Allegro to friends and family and they have always thanked me for the recommendation “
Great concert and lessons
“My boys have been coming here for a couple of years and we love it! The staff is young, energetic, and love music as much as we do. What more can we ask for. Every year Allegro holds a recital that is like a full blown concert. It is so fun to see how far all the kids have gone in the year. Thanks guys…. looking forward to rocking out with my kids thanks to you.”
